BT Vision

I subscribed to BT Vision, yep I did emoticon

I got the brand new kit, in the box all delivered. Took it out to the garage and smashed it up wiv an 'ammer emoticon , kept some of the leads as they look useful emoticon (Missus just shook her head in disgust emoticon )

Then cancelled my subscription, immediately using the reason as "creates interference of other radio equipment" No-one ever asked me the the kit back. I did get a call asking me why I had cancelled my subscription, so I told them. Then I got a call from "BT Technical" and I told them too emoticon

Once the kit has been despatched, it wont be retrieved as it will become second hand and cost more to come and get it than its worth.

Now, if we all did it? emoticon

Re: BT Vision

Did they supply a pair of PLTs, and if so, did they survive your attack?

The reason I ask is that I want a pair to do a demo at my local radio amateur club, but there's no way I'm paying, for obvious reasons.
What better way of getting the message across than disrupting the club HF transceiver?

Yes they sent a couple of the plug in things, but I was too hasty, they didn't survive emoticon Truth is I actually hung onto them for a while as well, but they're gone now.

Re: BT Vision

.

Perhaps it would be easier (and more effective), to ring up BT Technical Department as a 'Potential' customer, and ask them all about PLT - act ignorant, but say your Dad/Son/Brother is a Licenced Radio Amateur and has told you not to proliferate PLT from their 'Vision' apparatus, and he has just sent a petition to his MP about it. Now tell me whether I will be radiating the interference he is complaining about?

If every member of FB did something similar, I reckon there could possibly be a result ???

Regards,

Terry

Re: BT Vision

The only problem here is that BT offer the Comtrend PLT devices as an option, which you don't have to use.

If wired in the conventional manner there is no problem, and this is usually what is done when there is a complaint of PLT interference.

Makes it all the more annoying, doesn't it?
No-one even has to use the crappy PLT devices - they are simply a convenience.
