Re: Zetagi B300P amp.

I dont see it as an argument between ham ops or cb users, and to be honest im neither one or the other.

I started my radio hobby around `78 with an illegal AM rig, along with thousands of others here in the UK.

We had our own rules, and everybody stuck by them, anybody going off the rails was dealt with by locals there and then.

CB now is totally different to when it first became my hobby. These days we have noise toys, echo chamber, roger bleep mics etc, along with the mass unemployed and they DO NOT mix well.lol

Most of the above can be very annoying to somebody who users there radio for general chit chat with there close friends, who maybe cannot use a pc or mobile phone.

Certain types of cb`ers have ruined it,and given the hobby a bad name, but they are the minority and they get away with it for fear of confrontaion.

Nearby where i operate (im on ssb mostly) you cannot be heard on ch19 for the muppets who talk all day long on the calling channel with cranked up amplifiers, they talk rubbish all day everyday.

As a trucker i like to know if there are any diversions, accidents, floods or any hold ups on my route, but trying to ask on ch19 is like trying to thead a needle blindfolded,it will not happen, because these lowlifes are sat there.

It is a shame, because the little old man who cant leave his house and wants to talk to Fred down the street will never get heard.

Cb radio is now in the hands of these people, and its been taken away from the polite, curteous operators of many years ago.

And please ,before you all tell me im wrong, just tune in your local area on ch19 just for 30 minutes,it happens everywhere, everyday and will never change.

I feel so sorry for the good guys on cb,and there are many of them still left.

73s and good dx.Craig.

Yes, lots of good operators out there still, but must be a nightmare for all you truck drivers dealing with the idiots.

Cheers to all and happy freebanding.
Mike.

I would like to make a comment.... whether it be a 20 ton rat or a 2 ounce truck...lol if you can't hear the station that hear's you.... whats the point.... use the power you need what-ever is available to you , to make the contact and go by his report and what you believe he or she should should be recieving depending on the band conditions....you will get no-where by guesse-timating.... exuse the spelling emoticon
