Ham Radio Deals

Its a website, well its a forum based site. Theres a good resource for equipment, buying and selling and its worth a browse.

They're a bit sticky about freebanders, I've never hid my own radio uses from them and sometimes I've been lambasted. But hey-ho, its still worth a gander emoticon

They've introduced a new bit which has been designed for newbies to ask questions without ridicule or judgement regarding anyones radio preferences.

They really are a very knowledgeable bunch regarding radio, and I think its a good idea to get these guys to pass on their knowledge and help us all get the best from radio emoticon

See here, I think you have to register before you can see the forums

Re: Ham Radio Deals

My own personal opinion, it's good for selling/buying radio gear, but it's forums are full of back-stabbing hissy-fitters who consider themselves to be the elite of radio and the Police of the airwaves.

It is what it's named "Ham Radio Deals". For forums with decent level-headed and respectful people, stick with this site of Transmission1, both of which have communities of like-minded people who enjoy ALL aspects of radio, licensed or not.

By all means, check it out, but be careful about poking your head above the trenches, it's likely you'll cop some flak if your face doesn't fit.

Just my 10p's worth, for what it's worth. I am sure there are some good members on there, but generally this isn't an issue, as you'll find them on FB and TM1 as well ;-)

73 all :-)

Bought my Kenwood of here couple of years ago, not used it since. Was good for me at the time.

Re: Ham Radio Deals

should have read "stick with this site or transmission1"

I am sure there are good guys over there and we have some contact with the guys who run the forums with regards to Numtpies come from there to us over on TM1 and vice-versa, so I am by no means anti-HRD or the guys who run it, but I certainly don't feel like posting as often or as openly as I do on here or TM1.

Great for selling gear, but not so hot on being a community IMHO.

I posted a few times on HRD but I agree it's got it's small number of back stabbing know-it-alls with a up there own backside attitude - does this sound bitter? so I no longer visit. It is no wonder Radio Amateurs get a bad name.

Rant over from a G1.
