Re: 6.624Mhz
Hi there, what kind of control traffic?
Usually this is used by Greek fisherman, but I have also heard USAF and Volnet weather.

Re: 6.624Mhz
I think it was Senegal. Was a woman in English giving/assinging a routing, followed by a 2 tone signal, sounded like DTMF tones, she was on for 3 hours.

Re: 6.624Mhz
6.350 to 6.500 seems clear, just occasional radio stations.
Definately some form of traffic control. The woman that was call handling this time had an Irish accent. Signals were QSB R5 S1-5.

Re: 6.624Mhz
posiblyn 6.622 mhz as that is a shanwick freq for north atlantic track.
this would explain the irish accent as shanwick is in co clare, ireland.

That would certainly explain it. They appeared to be working simplex as I could sometimes make out the other end of the conversation. I believe TIPAX and JOOPY are "way" points as other traffic is mentioned along with whole strings of numbers.
I think I'll give the EC 6.559LSB a miss and continue monitoring 6.350-6.500 for activity. anyone know who has that bit of band?
UPDATE: Still not encountered any trafic on the 6.350-6.500 band, I am using (logged onto) SDR's in different countries, nothing heard. Anyone like to give 6.400 LSB a try one evening??
