The desk on a busy day!

This is a small section of the doublet and the feed line, the antenna is 6m up on the top of an 8m embankment beside the QTH and strung from two trees.

You can see that the wind has twisted the feed line recently so I will have to sort that out soon.

The Imax 2000 vertical can be used on 15, 14, 12, 11 and 10m without a tuner, I have a ground plane kit also for this one but decided not to use it. If you look close enough you will see a 1:1 line isolator below the feed point, this should stop the coax screen radiating. The antenna does not look like 8 metres tall but it is, the pole is about 7.5 metres and is mounted about 5 meters up, i will be listening out and trying my luck on 11m soon.

The Imax now with the Ground Plane kit added.

Geat shack and a superb HF antenna - no wonder you whack out such a good signal. Your only real competition signal-wise is from IRL40, Dennis.

If you ever decide to do it, I would be very interested in hearing about any advantage gained from the ground plane kit - obviously the test would have to involve a distant (S1 - S3) ground wave contact for reference.
