Re: WOUXUN UVD1-P

why does everybody think CB'er when someone causes greif on HAM bands? It makes me laugh..... Do you really think that its because of cheap radios that idiots can buy them? I think idiots have all sorts of income and most proberly are radio hams with licences i dont se why CB'er is always brought up. I hear twats on all bands from Freebands to ham bands and i dont think CB'er i just think twat.
Its sort of like saying only the poor and skint mess about on the radio, which is complete tosh and the sort of thing i hear snobby hams saying all the time. I imagine these people have more income than myself and are proberly using radios that cost more than puxings and what have ye. I just think its sad that the old CB'er gets all the finger pointing or the poor/skint person who obviously just bought his radio to mess about?? These idiots proberly have more of a licence than me and more expensive radios and hold higher licence than M3/6

Hi topbuzzuk

I was'nt griping at the CB'er, i used to be one myself. I have only just got involved in freebanding/ham and as i mentioned, (how foolish of me) thought i had heard the last of this kind of behavior, to find that it's probably a licence holder (of any level) does'nt make it any better

no i agree, and the assumption its a younger person also gets me... some of these hams have enemys or people who dont like them and visa versa, i listen to 80 meters most nights and these same guys get greif every night til early hours, firstly the radio is HF so not cheap 2nd its 3-4 am in the morning, most kids are asleep..
i wasn't having a go at anyone in particular, its just one of those things i always hear. It would be nice to get some cheaper radio gear, i think alot of ham stuff is well over priced. This doesnt help attract people to the hobby and neither does the attitude of alot of hams.....

anyway roll out the cheap gear, i had a dual band JingTong handheld, cheap as chips but done the same as my yaesu HH emoticon

I bought a pair of these radios last year, and using a certain piece of software you can change the range of tuning, mine did 136-174 and now does 120 to 200, the same with the UHF band too.
there are areas that don`t get used by anything I`v heard, so I have these programmed in and my wife an I use them as a sort of personal frequency 2 way radios on camping holidays.
and with a small SMA to BNC adapter a sirio mag-mount and a diamond sg7900, they`re great for going mobile with, it`s amazing the things that you can hear on them too! emoticon
Coast guard weather reports are handy when camping in wales.
and the flashlight function is incredibly bright, ideal when you need a slash in the middle of the night emoticon

Evidently there have been some bad chargers coming out from [sign in to see URL] have been sending out chargers that haven't got the Wouxun name on [sign in to see URL] chargers with their name on them have been ok.
"and now does 120 to 200" but isn't it am aviation below 134mhz?
Have a look at the Chinese based sourcing site [sign in to see URL] and type in the search whatever you [sign in to see URL] will spend hours in [sign in to see URL] are some weird and wonderful radios in there
