Re: The Big Net
Is that channel 29 on the older CB27/81 frequencies?
Sounds interesting.

Re: The Big Net
That's it - Ch29 UK 27/81 block (27.88125 Mhz)
CB use varies across the UK from pretty much zero use in some areas, to full-on swearing in others. Away from Ch19 though, I've found a good few Nets running with some pretty decent stations on. I try to participate in a Sunday DX Net that runs on CH32 every week from 2pm to around 4pm. It's usually chaired by Sid Mike5 (26-FB-54) and usually groundwave contacts are seen of 100 miles plus. Now and then, we do see some foreign stations joining in when the skip is running.
Here's a video of a 56Div station joining the Net a couple of weeks back - Sid is around 75 miles away from me in this one.
Ch32 Net - 56 Division Video
A few other vids of the Ch32 Net on the same YouTube Channel (I use my CT104 callsign on FM).
Quite a mix of stations we get, and it's great to see some good contacts made with some stations running no more than a £10 2nd Hand CB and a £20 Silver Rod. Coverage is pretty much from the North Midlands, the South and South Wales.
I'll certainly be giving the November 2nd Net a go and it'd be great to hear some FB stations on there too.
Cheers
Gary

Re: The Big Net
That's great - sounds like the good old days again.
I wasn't aware there was still do much activity. The problem here I suppose is that I can't operate a decent home base due to interference (to me) so I just don't get to hear much unless I go mobile, which is not too often.

Re: The Big Net
I was easily getting up to Wrexham way on the UK32 Net using a portable station in S.Wales on Sunday, but Tuesday night will be no more than a homebase effort.

Re: The Big Net
The event ran from 7pm to 10pm with around 30 stations participating - a good evening indeed in the South West.
