If the battery is to last more than say 100 cycles then you should plan on not using more than 50% of capacity or the life is drastically reduced. So thats about 50-60Ahrs to use. The 3 radio's and the laptop each take about 22-25 amps on tx and 5 rx with the squelch open, the laptop another 4 at least. So you have about 30 mins of general usage before a recharge will be needed, either the engine will need to recharge this battery or a portable geny. I think a 30A chock block will do the job (about 70pence)of connecting the leads but its the expensive battery life i'd be more concerned about I reckon.nondisclosed_email@example.com (John193)Mon, 03 Jan 2011 19:42:29 +0000 Re: power for going mobilehttps://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p15280,from=rss#post15280https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p15280,from=rss#post15280hi, i use car audio connector blocks for joining earths and lives. you can get gold plated 4-1 blocks for earths in car audio systems that take 1 big wire to 4 smaller click me you can probably find them cheap as chips on ebay second hand. I had a few from a car stereo install that had a few amps. I use 1 for my earths in the shack and they take pretty good size wires. They also do fused distribution blocks which might serve you better, have a look on a car audio site for whats available and then check ebay for the same kind of thing to se how cheap you can get them nondisclosed_email@example.com (topbuzzuk)Mon, 18 Oct 2010 23:13:25 +0000 power for going mobilehttps://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p15271,from=rss#post15271https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p15271,from=rss#post15271i intend to buy a 110h leisure battery for going mobile.
