Have rig will travel

Hi Guys
I have just purchased a Superstar 3900 and currently await the freq counter arriving. I am particularly keen on operating from the parked vehicle via a park-on mast plate, mast and antenna. However being unable to get a feed from the battery through the bulkhead easily[lease vehicle so no drilling] am at a loss to find the best way to power up the rig and amp. I have a 1K Honda generator but am not sure whether to use an auxiliary battery in between the generator and the rig, or whether to connect a power supply directly to the 240 outlet of the running generator. The amp will run 400W but I don't intend using anything like that sort of power.

Any and all suggestions very welcome.

Roy

i have a really long power lead for my Kenwood TS50, it has croc clips on the end and reaches from the battery to the rear of the van if i want. Infact i clip it to the car battery and tuck the wire in the wing and shut it in the door when i go out holidays or dx'in.
