Noisey Cobra 148
Hey dudes, I have a Cobra 148 MK2 and a Superstar 360FM, The Cobra board says PB010AB and the Superstar says PBO10AA. Anyway my problem is when I key the mic on the Cobra it makes a really loud 'clunk' sound which wakes the missus and baby up! The Superstar don't do it. Any ideas?...Rich

sounds like the old mk1 cobras used to do, sounded ace with a leson desk mic and a reverb  well to your listener..

Has it always sounded like this or has it just starte to do it ?
Most of these radio's Cobras and 360's do make a 'clunking' sound when switching over from RX to TX, My two Cobras do it, Although i wouldnt say its loud certainly not loud enough to wake up any one.
Have you switched mic's recenly ?
is this the mic youve always used ?
is it correctly wired up ?
Have you tried a deferent microphone ?
If you could give a bit more info perhaps we can help.

Hi Mark, Im using the same mike which is a Turner Expander 500, Same mike I have used for years. I dont mind the noise in the day but at night it's really loud. It's always done it, Nevermind.
