Re: sharp big window cb radio
Good times....
I had a Sharp rig. It was a 'remote mic' type. If I remember correctly it had a box that was designed to go under the car seat or the like, a big signal meter about the size of an ext speaker and then a silver speaker/mic that plugged into that which had the channel numbers and vol, sql etc on it. It was AM Midblock, but I had some great copies into the states on it in the late 80's.
Time to search Rigpix!
Found it! HotFusion had one too.....

Re: sharp big window cb radio
I had a 4670, and the speaker was actually in the rear of the signal meter.
The big problem was the multi-core lead on the microphone - if it was handled too roughly a wire or 2 may break, leading to some pretty erratic operation. I had this problem, and in my case the rig would blink and revert to channel 9 evry so often, very annoying.
A thunderstorm finally removed the problem, entirely.
