11m propagation map

This site has a great way of determining where the prop is during any point in the day, and you can enter your TX/RX aerial and it will work out where to beam your yagi, or where to listen for on your vertical emoticon

great DX tool emoticon

Clicky to prop site

Looks potentially interesting, and will make some comparisons of it, and the real life situation over time!

One gripe (a pet one!) is the use of QTH instead of location. Now, I can understand why, when Marconi first started going dah ditty dah dah across the Atlantic, that shortening some words and phrases to just 3 characters was beneficial - Less likelihood of repetitive strain injury and more likelihood of getting the message sent before the pub shut.

But why these ancient short codes are still with us when we are not dah ditty dah dahing anymore beats me! On SSB, it even takes more syllables to read out "Queue, Ess, Why, Two, Seven, Five, Three, Five" that it does to say "Down One" or even the same as "Go Channel 11, Hi Band"
