KENWOOD TS440S dots on display

its a common problem that every 440 will suffer from.
all the nasty glue that causes the dots has been removed, so i can discount that............
anyway on first start up (cold) the dots are present between [sign in to see URL] and [sign in to see URL] mhz only, laeve it warm up for 20 mins and they go, all good then? NO, because when the rig has been on for a hour or so, the dots come back??
Any ideas anyone?

VCO/PLL unlock scenario, quite common in older Kenwoods, try adjusting PLL/VCO adjustment as per manual for (I think) 6vdc.
But this is a short term fix, the caps used are old and need replacing.

Hope this helps
