i took my bike off the road just before Christmas for an extreme make over. out came the grinder and it was cut in half emoticon
Image

its had a bit of work done to it since that photo and hast cost me a fortune, what started out as a simple idea turned into something a lot more than i had intended. i dont want to post any in between photos just yet as i would rather just post up the finished bike so watch this space in a couple of months. emoticon

i would like to go Al but there's a few things going on this year and as i haven't got my bike finished yet i haven't planned anything. I've bought 99% of the bolt on bits to finish it but its the fabrication side i am waiting on. It's being built buy a guy who has had many Back Street Hero's featured bikes but it has just been a bit slow over the Christmas. I sort of jumped a que to get it started and he has had other things to finish that were in front of mine. Its going back on the bench this week so i'm hoping that i will be riding it around for a decent part of the summer all being well. hopefully a better summer than last year.. i cant wait to try out my new 20" ape hangers emoticon

Sounds awesome and cant wait to see it, we got a camaro 5.7 on the drive now, we bought it in bits, been standing for 21 years in UK, got it mot last week and taxed, still got a few bits to do, mainly gear change linkage-its a rare manual one. Was a project for my son in law and me but he wants to keep it now, as you do!

Here it is before paint, done a load of work under engine bay, replaced engine and painted it and all underneath was treated, no welding needed, all solid emoticon
Front headlights now replaced with HID`s, so bright! Waiting to get gear selectors sorted and will do a video as it sounds awesome with its twin 3" side exit exhausts.

getting something solid is a bonus Al, least you can wx oil/underseal it all and fresh paint it should last for years to come. Be nice in the summer blatting around in that and there seems to be quiet a big following for american cars in wales. i have been to a couple of shows for the weekend over there and everyone is really friendly and like to drink and share their beer emoticon

Re: Half a Harley Davidson (",)

I'm two thirds through a bike rebuild, took these photos about 4 weeks ago, but its moved on significantly since. I'm only waiting for some machining to come back from the machine shop where I've had to alter the crank cases to fit the over sized barrel. Its an ole 1992 Supermono racer. I have raced it way back, but bhlew the motor about ten years ago, its been stuck in the garage doing nothing for years.

So a few weeks back I wanted to start a new bike project that won't leave my mind. But before that I want to finish this old girl. I don't like having loads of half arsed stuff on the go. So finish this then start the new bike. This should be complete within a month or so, not quite concourse, but pretty damn good and ready to race, when there's a class its eligible for.

Sadly single cylinder racing no longer exists really, and its not old enough for classic or even forgotten era racing. I could do the odd hill climb or sprint on her, for airing her out emoticon

But really she's going to run up and down the road every now and again, and be my "collection", my man cave ornament, fully serviceable though emoticon
