Re: Yaesu FT1000D gone deaf on 11m

Ok Al
thats me put some pics up , but i put them in the pics forum hope you like.

liked your last comment.... and yes we try to welcome anyone interested in radio, but some of the older one's still shun freebanding although they did it themselves years ago, some even involved in importing the radios in the 70's 80's.

But any interest in radio is good, we might even get them interested in obtaining there licence

Just an update - both radios are in the safe hands of Geoff at Castle Electronics, he reckons maybe 2 weeks as hes catching up on work after his move.
Al
Will have a look at pics, cheers Rab

Picked both radios up this morning, FT1000D had a few diodes replaced and a few beefed up, works like new - first contact into 108 div on 11m emoticon
590 was a software glitch so just a reset (good call Rab, should have tried that first)
Both back in the shack in time for Christmas emoticon

Tremendous shack Al. proper good radios, and set up emoticon

Do you not get a "phut" sound whilst using the mic? I have to have a foam diffuser over the mic to stop this. Without out it the audio is stronger as the foam cover softens the audio, but "P's" and "B's" cause a small Phut sound.

I have to say I have not noticed this on your audio, so it must be set up quite well.

To be honest Dave, I dont give a phut! lol
Not noticed one or no ones said anything anyway. Shack changed a little with the ts480 in case for mobile use and the KL500 taking its space.

Cheers Rab, nice to get them back and both working like new. Would highly recommend Geoff at Castle for any repairs.
