We're all on a budget mate, sign of the times I'm afraid.
Best to save a bit longer and get something with a good reputation. That way your not looking at getting something else in 2 months cause your not happy with it.
Just my opinion of course.

Re: Advice On Setup?

Luck Is NOT Going To Come Into My Purchase Just Because This First Time I Am Setting Up Once Again Doesnt Mean That I Will Be Buying a New Radio Because There Has Been Problems With My First Choice.

This First Radio I Will Purchase Will Only Be Temp Radio, As I Intend Later This Or Even Next Year To Purchase A Bigger Radio (Icom Ic Radio) Of Some Sort And Beam Antenna.

I Am Not Exactly In a Rush....

Re: Advice On Setup?

So after spending quite some time thinking about a new radio i have decided to go with this.

Kenwood TS-450 SAT HF Transceiver.

Image

Going to cost just around £450 but the down side is i will have to wait for a month before getting the rest of the setup.

Aluminum Pole, Antenna, Brackets, Bolts, Cable, Power Supply.

However i am prepared to wait and in the mean time i would appreciate some suggestions on a suitable power supply to compliment the radio. emoticon

Was this the HF radio on ebay with faults as you previously posted spac3monk3y ?

I use a Watson as below
http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/6932

but it depends on what else you might plan to run from it, you may require something bigger, checkout the following thread below you may pick up some ideas.
