Antennas the favourite part of the hobby

Hi guys, DIY antennas are the favourite part of the radio hobby for me. I already have a wire dipole on a roach pole here is a short video of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BxhOwzyMPI&list=UU63NK-NxJ_NA7z1SX7t1zHg

The problem with this one is when I set it up low down in the garden the SWR was spot on, as soon as it went up a height I had problems getting the swr low, this is because on these vertical dipole designs its better if the coax is away from he antenna at 90 degrees but the higher it went the more the coax ended up running along side the antenna.

So I plan on making a new one, its a design I found on youtube, an end fed dipole (TL2), Im really looking forward to trying this one and will keep you upto date with it. This is it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gf8xeq77kkI

Handy bit of kit... Rotary Coax Stripper Tool

Better than using just a Stanley Blade. emoticon
