Installation


I have an Amp I was thinking of installing it's a syncron EA -300p ,would be needed to be wired to battery what gauge of cable should I use and type of fuse blade or glass also I would like it wired by someone who knows what there doing I would take the Amp out of the car so would need a plug or connector I would be running radio off the cigarette lighter.

Use a gauge of wire similar to that already on the amp. If you can get 4mm2 cross-section copper wire then this should be fine as long as the leads to the battery aren't too long. if longer than a couple of metres, use 6mm2.

It's not so much about how much current the wire can carry, it's more about voltage drop along those wires under full load.

Fuse-wise, put a 25 amp blade fuse in line, but if you get regular problems with it blowing (which I'd be surprised at) stick a couple of 15 amp fuses in holders wired in parallel to equate to a 30 amp fuse. I'm not sure if you can get a 30 amp standard blade fuse - you shouldn't be able to, as the contacts are only rated at 25 amps...
