Phased Verticals for 11 meters?

Right now, I am running a 102" Whip Home brew Ground Plane on the roof of the house (about 30' up, 102" wire Radials).

I am thinking if I can get away with putting up another 102" ground plane antenna, I could put up an switchable Array.

I could make it directional for East/West and hopefully get a better signal across the USA (And Into Europe) and also toward the West for the Pacific, while creating a bit of a Null to the South (South America) to cut out some of the QRM...

Has anyone ever tried one of these setups?

I haven't, but would a conventional horizontal dipole do much the same? Adding a reflector a 1/4 wave behind and 5% longer would add a small amount of gain. I understand you are limited for space but a dipole needn't take up much room and is a lot simpler than a phased array, and a lot more efficient.

Hey Andy,

I have thought of a dipole/reflector setup, but That is set in one direction.

I am looking for something to get at least a General east/west directivity, phasing would let me switch it.

There was an antenna sold in the states called a super scanner.
it was basically 3 dipoles in a vertical array with remote switching and each live element used the other two as reflectors, making it directional in 3 opposing ways.
i have often thought about making one as i have access to relays ect trough the job.

I was thinking about going this route:

which antenna will be the best to work 11 meter as I got a Yaesu ft-450 that be widebanding so it can go everywhere any ideal wire antenna all beam all a vertical all loop antenna I need a antenna that can do the job and it can work at other frequency if 11 meter is dead any ideal will be nice
