TV/antenna booster~i get interference on my radio when the TV and booster downstairs are swithed on at the wall/socket(my TV antennas are in the loft with the V. Computer/modems~are you running wireless? i'm not so dont have a problem although when i have computer on upstairs in room with the radio i get some interference from comp. V near electric cables?~check theres no power cables near the V antenna as this can cause trouble. Earths~worth checking you have a good earth, my radio is upstairs so i'm just using houshold earths but dont seem to get much bother. Its very possible its coming from neighbours, in my mobile i get loads of diferent interference when passing diferent houses and have a constant 4 S points on the meter when parked in the carpark. i rekkon its all these wireless modems and stuff for computers, i dont remember this much interference yeares ago when on the radio *edit*oh i forgot, my missis has one of these touch lamps next to the bed. you touch it like 4 times to switch it on diferent brightness, if i dont switch it off at the wall i get interference(i'll buy ner a new one soon that just switches on or off) nondisclosed_email@example.com (topbuzzuk)Fri, 06 Jun 2008 17:09:34 +0000 Re: waving a hand!!https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p2574,from=rss#post2574https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p2574,from=rss#post2574hmmm!!....ok?!?!....i have another question anyway!...quote:the inverted V works a treat when the skips about, no good for groundwave(CB). i take that means on fm aswell not just ssb?nondisclosed_email@example.com (26fb106)Fri, 06 Jun 2008 15:19:49 +0000 Re: waving a hand!!https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p2572,from=rss#post2572https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p2572,from=rss#post2572from a inverted v ,came a ssb operater, next a wire then a beam, then a ol a ray of ali in the sky, don't ask me why? each leg started around 10FT now they're trimmed down to just under 9FT i can tune it ok with my ATU but dont want to keep that in line .... would the antenna be just as effective if i had to cut the wire to less than 9FT or 102 Inches to get the SWR down, or is SWR just one of those wierd and wonderful things??? Thanks in advance for any info and help Shane 26FB106 oh and p.s. When you make a wire antenna always make it longer than the measurments so you can trim it for SWR, trim equal amounts off each peice of wire(i did half inch at a time til i got mine down, the worse the SWR the more i cut off just to save trips to the loft but got it right down). Also have you made a Balun at the feedpoint of the wire(where coax joins?)this helps with SWR,RF feedback and stops the coax interfering with the antenna? Mine works a treat in the loft nondisclosed_email@example.com (topbuzzuk)Mon, 02 Jun 2008 19:21:06 +0000 Re: waving a hand!!https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p2540,from=rss#post2540https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p2540,from=rss#post2540hi ya shane welcome young man???nondisclosed_email@example.com (26fb139)Mon, 02 Jun 2008 18:28:59 +0000 Re: waving a hand!!https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p2535,from=rss#post2535https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p2535,from=rss#post2535That was quick!
