Re: waving a hand!!

hey thanks porky69 i've had a couple of local contacts on it already so i know it works the only trouble is now....i have some kind of static or electrical noise problem.... i've tried ferrites to no effect and switched everything off around my house that i possibly can but it's still there?!?!....must be coming from next door..... it's not too much of a problem because it's not always there so i can tolerate it but it is annoying when it's there!!!!...nevermind.

Re: waving a hand!!

no it does work on any modulation(mode)its just it works best when the skip is running, ive spoke to scotland on the UK 40 FM(muppets)on my V.

interference.... right it could be a few things in your house, check some of these.

doorbell~when i goto bed i can hear mine humming, it doesnt iterfere with mine but worth mentioning.
TV/antenna booster~i get interference on my radio when the TV and booster downstairs are swithed on at the wall/socket(my TV antennas are in the loft with the V.
Computer/modems~are you running wireless? i'm not so dont have a problem although when i have computer on upstairs in room with the radio i get some interference from comp.
V near electric cables?~check theres no power cables near the V antenna as this can cause trouble.
Earths~worth checking you have a good earth, my radio is upstairs so i'm just using houshold earths but dont seem to get much bother.

Its very possible its coming from neighbours, in my mobile i get loads of diferent interference when passing diferent houses and have a constant 4 S points on the meter when parked in the carpark. i rekkon its all these wireless modems and stuff for computers, i dont remember this much interference yeares ago when on the radio emoticon

*edit*oh i forgot, my missis has one of these touch lamps next to the bed. you touch it like 4 times to switch it on diferent brightness, if i dont switch it off at the wall i get interference(i'll buy ner a new one soon that just switches on or off) emoticon
