Re: Ferrite clamps-where to put them?
TVI Filter fitted, swr checked and still causing tvi, not just lines, wiping the whole set out on the big tv, lines on the small one. Only thing I can think of now is to move aerial back down to where it was before. Any ideas gentlemen? Oh, not using hardly any power, knob is barley turned and coax is the thick low loss type (thick as my thumb) in case that makes a difference?

Re: Ferrite clamps-where to put them?
have you tried a tvi filter that goes on the tv coax? sounds to me like it may be the tv side of things. i wipe out downstairs tv and get 1 or 2 lines on upstairs tv, both antennas are in the loft next to each other for both tv's. expensive tv antenna seems to get wiped out compared to the cheapo tv twig.

Re: Ferrite clamps-where to put them?
Had thought about one of them but they would need 2 on there sets and the chap next door to them would need 1 so thats 3 at least! Where do I stop? Have tried another rig and different mics to (non power)
Thanks for the suggestion

Re: Ferrite clamps-where to put them?
Just a thought, does coax wear out/break down over time?

Re: Ferrite clamps-where to put them?
Have got filter on but just reading back I missed one stage! I havnt earthed everything seperatly, thats worth a try. Also trying to get a bigger pole to take the aerial up higher, see if that makes a difference. Jobs for the weekend!

Re: Ferrite clamps-where to put them?
Earthing is the second most effective thing for reducing interference next to SWR, in my experience. I knocked a brass rod into the ground about 4' long and attached a heavy cable from ALL the equipment to this rod.
And the difference was well marked
Also I have some ferrite clips, I have tried these in loads of deifferent places and they seem to make the most difference attached to the power leads?? I suppose this is because some RF will travel via the mains??
Good luck, let us know how it oges

Re: Ferrite clamps-where to put them?
I am running my rig off a battery so should I put a wire from the earth side of that down to the earth rod as well? Am going to get a new swr meter as I have a feeling mine is not working as it should be, am going to get one that has a power meter and a matcher.Have also got hold of a 16ft pole to try it a bit higher, prob need more coax then.If all this fails gonna take up fishing or golf. haha
