i have a ss-158 as my mobile rig.
good bits-
strong tx audio with a standard mic. (not the one that came with it, as it is rubbish)
quiet and sensitive recever.
good coverage on all modes.
bad bits
no display dimmer.
you cant reduce tx power
wanders off frequency even when warm up. you have to chase it around with the clarifier.
but it has been a reliable radio and have spoken to most of europe and also to greenland on this radio.
