There u can find how to dsp filters works and IF filter also. there is graphical display whit very easy way to figure it out how all the changes works. ok this is only AF dsp but works great enough. Tested on heavy QRM and QRN, not bad, there is not one way to do adjustment of dsp or any adjustments, so, you have to test it your self to find best way to receiving DNL is great and have 3 positions (i use 1 positions all most all the time), NR 1 and NR 2, auto to 9 differen positions, and nr2 have 2 to 20 positions, nr1 in auto and nr2 in 18 positions is ok, nr1 is most best in 6 or 7 position when band is silent and weak signal comes on it. NB have 1 to 10 positions and in 6 or 7 positions is good, but remember, on 11m band there is not so much qrn and have to say, all this adjustment on 11m band are little different than to do adjustment on other bands, I mean if you try to put all adjustment to high positions you maybe lose some weak signals also. but on meny case u can find that it really help and may also help to find weak signals (some times is not urgent to do that, because u can hear them but they maybe not can hear u, hi hi, great radio) Ok, there is on menu nr18; Rx equalizer what is great and very important settings, there is 7 different pre settings and you can find explanations on manuals. I found out that this is good place to adjustment rx audio to hear weak signals and whit qrm you can find very efficent settings to good hearing. also there is position U and that is users set whit ARCP-480 program, Also same settings is to Tx on menu nr 19. and that is good to use to found most better tx audio. Try different setting to other modes, like FM and SSB, very impostant. BC1 and BC2, bc1 works well to cut any beat like whistling, morse etc, bc2 works great on heavy qrm bands, but needs strong signal, its hear like a digital voices. PreAmp is ok, not so good like mast preamp, but works. Auto tuner works, but not on high SWR, only if swr is less than about 3,5 and some case on swr 4. its tune up my vertical (11m) 13,8Mhz to 30Mhz easyly, but if i tune up my 45m dipoly on 45m then i got problem, it cant tune it, but antenna is ok on 45m, so no problems. there is also firmware to fix it up, but i got new one here all ready, maybe old one got more problems. This auto atu tune antenna if i tune VFO automaticly, but some times is must push to AT button to do retune and tuner find better solutions to low swr (there is on menu 26 to put tuner ON for receptions RX, but im not tested that yet). OK, great rig, i got also ham radio deluxe program, its ok, but there is ts480 settings ready, not so good, i have to change hrd display to better and more logical. so tnx to kenwood, i think its best radio whit that price and very flexible to any kind home, auto or field day statios 73'mike 56FB001 ps hopefully u can understand my poor english nondisclosed_email@example.com (56ww)Sat, 03 Jul 2010 14:59:44 +0000 Re: Kenwood TS480SAT/HXhttps://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p14283,from=rss#post14283https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p14283,from=rss#post14283hi http://www.kenwood.com/i/products/info/amateur/ts_480/pdf/TS-480_manual_E.pdf in-depth manual where is more informations great 73'mike 56FB001nondisclosed_email@example.com (56ww)Thu, 01 Jul 2010 13:32:30 +0000 Re: Kenwood TS480SAT/HXhttps://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p13796,from=rss#post13796https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p13796,from=rss#post13796hi, yes, i think this is same kind reviews, like you said its can hear very well, no problem whit that, noise blanker works fine and all to all, whole noise reduce system works fine. i had also icom ic-r1500 receiver and it seems to be very same kind, ofcourse Fm is better in kenwood, audio is litlle bit echo sound because of litlle speaker, but there is extra plug to other speaker. out put audio is superior like kenwood radios. autoAtu works well enough if antenna swr are not high than 3,5, also i had dipole on 45 m (swr 1:1 near) and atu not tuned that or take long time to matching it, litlle odd. i had newest version of firm ware to radio, and that allow to do better matching to near 28mhz. this is very good radio and not get so much interferences what my old ts830s what are also good radio. I like this separation of head display also, got my icom same system also. two antennas is great, i got 3mhz to 10mhz on antenna 2 and 13mhz to 29mhz on antenna 1. this radio is simplle to use and can remote via internet easyly, there is also system how you can remote radio whit using display head and some internet box's, i think its www.remoteradio.com or .se, great radio and works well, maybe better ssb filter (1.8) is good to have, but works whit out it great. also prise is not bad, only bad is, that money currencys is like qsb atm. preamp is good, but like any preamp what are not near antenna, make some noise up also. 73'mike ps more come, if i find out more of this great radio.nondisclosed_email@example.com (56ww)Thu, 27 May 2010 11:20:58 +0000 Re: Kenwood TS480SAT/HXhttps://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p5815,from=rss#post5815https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p5815,from=rss#post5815I have the 100watt version and am very pleased with it. Have had great audio reports and it seems to hear well, better than my old lincoln and my ranger-the only other radios I have had so its all I can compare them with atm. The built in ATU seems to do a "fair" job but think a seperate one would be needed for a G5RV or simillar. I like the way the head is off so can be easily mounted in the car, also gives more room on the desk in the shack. Also like the twin aerial inputs, easy to switch from the vertical to the horizontal.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Kaosss)Mon, 02 Feb 2009 16:22:22 +0000 Kenwood TS480SAT/HXhttps://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p4214,from=rss#post4214https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p4214,from=rss#post4214Kenwood TS480SAT/HX 200W output (50MHz: 100W) DC 13.8V operation : The TS-480HX is a highly versatile rig offering 200W output (50MHz: 100W) ― making it ideal for both base station and DX'ing applications. • 100W model : The 100W TS-480SAT is additionally equipped with a built-in automatic antenna tuner. • TX/RX AF DSP :16-bit AF digital signal processing offers such powerful features as noise reduction, TX/RX equalizer, and AF filters. • Separate LCD control panel with speaker : Sporting a large amber LCD with backlit keys, the standalone control panel can be positioned anywhere up to 13 feet or 4 meters from the main unit. • Continuous RX: 500kHz (VFO: 30kHz) to 60MHz • TX covers all Amateur bands 1.8MHz to 50MHz • Other features : include a quad-mixer that provides RX dynamic range in the TS-950 class, PSK31 compatibility, packet cluster tune (with TM-D700A), PC-based control, and optional IF filters.   nondisclosed_email@example.com (topbuzzuk)Wed, 19 Nov 2008 00:04:10 +0000
