Re: g7
Ok, I've read the preceding posts but unfortunately due to an innate thickness and inability to pull my own finger, out can anyone, being very specific, tell me so I can tell my mate(it's really me)what he has to do to reactivate his old G7 call sign thus missing out an humiliating possible/probable fail if he had to sit the exam again 17 years later.
Also at this point can I put on record that I hate the fact that CW was used as the final hurdle to allowing phone operation on HF....it was like requiring the ability to programme in Basic before you're allowed to use the internet....rant over.
Cheers in anticipation,Dave.

Re: g7
try to find a callbook that you were in, or an old license/rae test pass cert.
failing that go on the ofcom website, phone em and explain your situation, you might just be ok.

Re: g7
Luckily the wife keeps all my old certificates from school/work and I have the City and Guilds 7650 RAE Record of Achievement certificate plus actual RAE Certificate from July 1993.....both parts 001 and 002.
I also have an A4 sheet from the Radio Licensing Centre, then at Bristol, acknowledging receipt of my license application rather confusingly dated August 1995 some two years later and stating my validation would be forwarded in due course. I can't actually find a license or remember why there is a two year gap after passing before applying although in 93 the skip was still strong enough on 11 metres to more than hold my attention!
I do remember my old call sign but when did I suddenly get old and forgetful?
I think I have enough to get on with though so it should be interesting to see what happens.
Cheers and keep the info coming please,26GB82,Dave.

Re: g7
Paper form now filled in and sent off with £20 cheque.....will that be enough to bribe someone?
What a lovely rapid response from Ofcom too as I had only fired off my initial enquiry at a perfectly reasonable 1:30 am on a Saturday morning and got their reply by e-mail the following Tuesday afternoon.....so far so good.
