Kenwood TS-430: Power lead question

Guys - do any of you know what the power lead configuration is?

Mine has a pair of leads connected together for both the + and - connections, and I'm wondering if this is just to halve the resistance of the cable or whether one pair of leads powers the TX and the other feeds the PA circuit.

If the latter, I'm thinking this would be very useful for battery operation.

If you know, let me know. emoticon

Actually, I've answered the question myself by opening the rig up again. The leads are connected together, so an idea I had won't work.
