Radio running thru me veins.

Hi all, after a few years away from DXing and CB in general I've dusted off the sets and decided that they should be put to better use, my aim is to freeband mobile only for the time being, I have an off roader that will take me to great heights emoticon perhaps you guys could give me advise on a homebase antenna that would serve the purpose I was thinking Thunder pole 5 or even a Sigma 5/8 skip master, nothing too complex for those quick assemble moments.
My old call signs were WRG38, PC100, 1DD498 but these clubs are now long gone so thankyou for having me aboard.

You are very welcome along and look forward to hearing you on the band emoticon

On the aerial, depends a bit on you're own ideas. For quick stationary DXing, you could even choose say a three element yagi from Sirio to fantastic effect on high ground. Verticals, anything from a tank whip, which I have heard is the business and cheap too emoticon To a full size 5/8 827, which is a proper DX tool, but maybe a bit fiddly for portable emoticon

Hello guy's thanks for your responses, been reading through your forums and there's a lot of useful info there, hadn't thought of using a beam now there's useful, is that where I would be able to lose those unwanted transmissions while aiming the beam at my contact?
In the last ten years rigs have certainly come along way, not to mention the antennae and when In get set with a homebase I was actually thinking on the lines of an 827.

Regards curly.
