Not heard a lot here today either, not been good lately to test. Could do with someone local-ish to try it out but wouldnt worry to much atm with not getting any DX

Waiting for Skip to come is like waiting for a fish to bite. You just have to be patient . Stick with it and you wont be disappointed.

im not sure but i think those radios are programable via a pc?? someone correct me if wrong but you may want to get a hold of a usb programming lead for the radio and program the channels to how you want them

Re: can't hear anything ?

You deffo want to get the USB lead and the software. If you are hearing UK19 on channel 33, then what you are actually listening to are transmissions on 27.78125 MHz whilst tuned to 27.785 Mhz. This is because the Hi Band channel "allocation" overlaps the UK40 channel allocation. But the UK channels have an odd 27.xx125 MHz centre frequency, whilst the high band channels have 27.xx5 Mhz.

Aside from the confusion the channel number will give you, you are also 3.75 kHz off frequency, so the perfotmance and the audio quality will be lower.

Until you get your paws on the software, you can improve things by using the clarifier on your Intek to get the frequency closer to 27.78125. On channel 33, you need to drop 3.75 kHz. Depending how the clarifier steps are set up in your sets programming menu, will depend how feasible this is. Best bet is likely to have the Push function on the clarifier set up to switch the clarifier steps, the clarifier set for both RX and TX, and then work 27.785 down to 27.78125 by a combination of turns and pushes till you get it right.

The blue table here may be helpful for you to see what is happening at the moment, as well as how you might want to set up your channel allocations when you get the lead and software.

Due to the programmability of these radios, its hard to say how the A-F bands on your radio correspond to the bands in the table. All depends on how someone decided to set it up!
