Going mobile
Wanted advice on mobile antennas,i want to go mobile on 11 meters, after the xmas break, the radios i will be using are a cobra 200 gtldx or a ranger 2950dx,i was thinking of buying a sirio hypower 4000 or sirio megawatt 4000 antenna,is there anybody out who has used either of these antennas.
Or can anybody recommend another antenna.

Re: Going mobile
yep you got the right idea, cant go wrong with the 3000/4000 sirios. and if you can get it fitted to a body mount/gutter mount it will work better than on a mag mount especialy if running an amp(from my experiance)

Re: Going mobile
I have a Sirio 5000 (Turbo) and it's superb......booming as they say around here!
I would recommend it to anyone considering a new upgrade for mobile use. Got mine from Nevada radio who where great on delivery time.

Re: Going mobile
you cant go wrong with a quarterwave vertical steel whip on your mobile, i use one, have done for years, and cheap to buy, .............oh........dont drive with it though.

Re: Going mobile
looks like the sirio range are quite popular, might go for sirio turbo 5000,only a couple of quid dearer than the 4000.

Re: Going mobile
Yeah sirio, for mobile, full quarter wave is best, but you cant drive with it on, well not over 5mph, lol. I find best, put a a99 in the boot, when you park up screw it together, on a small pole, ram it in the ground, and of you go.
