I made one of these some time ago and found it to be a rather poor antenna,after some alteration to the coils (spaceing the wire at approx 2mm gaps and securing with electrical tape) it worked better but its still a compromise...
A half wave inverted v with the ends bent down will work much better and will not take up to much room...

I built a short 40 a few years ago, Total lenght is around 48 ft... 24 feet each side, I built it for 40 mtrs but if you just extend the outer wires a bit it will tune 45, or add a few extra turns on the coils...
Heres my vid of it... I use it almost daily on 40, It handles the legal limit 400 watts no probs, and it tunes from around 7.050 to 7.200 with out the need of a matcher of tuner... vswr risses a bit at the band edges but at 7.100 the vswr hardly moves...
