In fact, I paid for nothing there, all from the junkbox except the servo, which I scrounged. Note the 555 mounted in a 16 DIL socket. You gotta improvise! Actually... (looks about a bit...) Here's the finished 'product', neatly packaged on a circuit board and fitted into an old computer PSU box, using most of the same components: As you can see, I develop a project to the point where it works, but never 'prettify' it. As if to prove a point, here's the antenna tuner itself, securely housed in a mil-spec plastic biscuit tin: nondisclosed_email@example.com (Hot Fusion)Mon, 25 Apr 2011 20:24:57 +0000 Re: Ugliest CCT Board...https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p17833,from=rss#post17833https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p17833,from=rss#post17833I totally love your regulator "cluster", I`v done similar myself in the past, I gather it`s a 7805 or similar?nondisclosed_email@example.com (YT2095)Mon, 25 Apr 2011 20:07:54 +0000 Re: Ugliest CCT Board...https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p17829,from=rss#post17829https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p17829,from=rss#post17829OK, beat this one: This was a little circuit designed using a 555 timer intended to drive a radio control servo unit, to make it take up a position dependant on the setting of a potentiometer. It worked well once I'd messed about with some component values. I now use it to tune out the inductive reactance of an overly-long 80m antenna, by using the servo to operate a variable capacitor at the antenna base. The circuitry has been tidied up and a circuit board made, and the device now sits in a box at the radio position to enable me to tune to almost 1:1 SWR anywhere around the 80m band.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Hot Fusion)Mon, 25 Apr 2011 13:43:06 +0000 Re: Ugliest CCT Board...https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p17815,from=rss#post17815https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p17815,from=rss#post17815Ugly? No. You have a LOT of patience and a good eyes, not like mine... 73 de Juan Ok, this is Ugly, not yours LOL nondisclosed_email@example.com (30fb001)Sat, 23 Apr 2011 11:11:34 +0000 Ugliest CCT Board...https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p17812,from=rss#post17812https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p17812,from=rss#post17812I thought I would try the old 1970`s style Wire-Wrap technique for the RAM board of my latest project. and although it`s great fun to do in bed watching TV (my wife banned me from using a soldering iron LOL), the end result can be a bit Ugly! anyway, here`s my Contribution for "Ugliest Circuit": this side aint too bad so... DO Share your Ugliest CCT, I`d hate to feel all Messy on my own! nondisclosed_email@example.com (YT2095)Fri, 22 Apr 2011 13:46:53 +0000
