kenwood TS450s modification to M.CH/VFO CH selector.

Basically I have the 80 legal CB radio channels programmed to memory on my TS450s, the M.CH/VFO knob selects the programmed channels but mutes the speaker between each channel selection, can this be opened so that it does not mute the speaker between selection of the channels?

Any ideas anybody?. Thanks

This may be happening not because of intentional muting, but simply because the VCO takes a finite time to achieve lock. During this time the output of the VCO may be disabled to prevent TX on a random frequency as type approval requires, and this may also affect receive.

This is only a theory, no more than that.

Anyone else any ideas?

Strange my ts850 doesnt do it but i have a grant that does. It's just a capacitor to remove on the grant but i imagine the delay is micro controlled on that
