Re: i-max 2000

ive used one and it was better than the Anntron 99. it stands up to the wind ok just a little more whippy than the anntron. i stil prefer the sirio 827, but the imax is deffo worth the extra pennys over the anntron, and if you get the ground plane kit it actually works better

a mate of mine not too far away from me has an imax, went to see it yesterday. he seems impressed with it. it may be a bit to wippy for my situation.you have introduced some doubt in my mind now paddy, i cant decide between the i-max or the sirio 827. what ever i decide, it will be mounted about 40 feet up, so either one should do the trick, i hope.

i loved the sirio 827, it looks the part and works very well. but saying that i never tried the groundplane kit on the imax and ive read somewhere it makes more diference than they do on the anntron. sirio 827 is my choice of verticle antenna emoticon

Just been looking at the Sirio 827, with a view to buying something for static mobile work.

Fairly pricey, looking at 70+ quid from Knight's, but I can only assume its a bloody good antenna - certainly looks good.

What is it like to assemble?
Is it a possibility for mobile work, or is it too time consuming and complicated to erect?
