Pre-recorded messages
Listening to 20m, 40m, 80m and EC recently I have noticed that some stations use a pre-recorded sound or message. They must use some sound equipment with a series of recording they can use at any time. Stuff like:
"CQ 20m QRZ" An obvious recording played over and over.
"ouiouioui" Pronounced weeweeeweee, beats me?
"this frequency is busy" I heard this from a US station, he was on 14275 and getting interference from the frequency next door, so he played this recording over and over about a hundred times each side of 14275 to clear it. Selfish basket.
Odd lot?

Re: Pre-recorded messages
Hi,
I was on a Ham DX event and I think the 6m radio they were using had some box plugged into it that allowed them to record the CQ message and then switch back to receive after , or it would do something clever and transmit a certain number of calls in a minute and then wait for a response and if there was nothing it would keep on going.
But for other uses it certainly seems very selfish, just to keep the frequency clear.
Cheers
