Runboard Account

I have paid for the premium, $10 (about £6.50) for the year. For this you get, basically, no adverts and an indication when you get a PM, there are other benefits, but none that are worth writing home about.

BTW FBDX gets nothing, zero, nada, if you go premium, its purely a Runboard forum hosting thing.

Runboard are the hosts and the software providers of this forum. I dont host or have any control over what they do or don't do.

Its fairly basic forum, message board stuff by todays standards, but we have so much stuff on here, and so many threads etc. it will be very difficult to start from scratch. Although that is what we're going to do soon.

One of the biggest problems is the admins (ME) inability to alter accounts, passwords, usernames. This is a major issue as a great deal of people change their minds, or join the group and want to use the callsign, or whatever. Or they forget, want to change the password, or they just want to be something different whatever.

I can't do anything, unlike other, most forum message boards we are extremely limited in what we can change emoticon

But, the future is bright emoticon

Soon we will be changing to a message board service with all mod cons, with changeable stuff, user looks, names, manageable user the whole works emoticon The downside will be we will have to start from scratch, ho hum, we did it four years ago, we can do it again emoticon

I'd like to say thanks to Runboard for their support (Limited as it has been ) and good luck for the future (Limited as it will be). But free forums, well you cant really complain eh? emoticon

Limited? emoticon

Hi yamanx1, I don't believe we met yet, although you did make three posts at Runboard Support before I became Runboard's Head of Staff in 2008.

I'm a bit late to respond to this, but since it is a sticky topic, I thought I would clarify some things.

If you paid $10 for premium, it was only for your personal account. Board premium is $25 per 100,000 page views.

Anyone can have multiple user accounts, even using the same email address. If they forget their password, all they need to do is retrieve it by clicking on "Lost password?" and typing in their username. If they no longer have access to the email account that's associated with their Runboard account, they are free to contact me, and I will do my best to determine that they are who they say they are before changing the email address to one they do have access to. If I am unable to determine this on my own, I won't hesitate to contact you and see if you can help.

If you have any other questions, concerns, or complaints, please don't hesitate to stop by Runboard Support or shoot me a PM. The quickest way to get a message to Thor (Runboard's owner and programmer) is to go through me, and as of 2010, I also have the ability to directly edit parts of the website.

We may not have the absolute best in features, but I do believe we are the best when it comes to member support. I hope you haven't given up on us completely.

Re: Runboard Account

Hi.

I just wanted to give my two cents on Runboard. I have been to many forum hosting sites and as I'm not good with computers Runboard was nice because it was easy to set up IMO. The support is 100% The best and possibly me favorite part of Runboard. Compared to other message board hosts I wouldn't say that Runboard's limited at all. It starts out basic and as you learn you can add features such as marquees or sidebars emoticon

I think that's because Runboard has a community so people could hack into accounts on other forums.

Just wanted to say thanks to Runboard for all this emoticon

Re: Runboard Account

I posted that in 2011, four years ago! And we're still here on Runboard.

I still say that it has created difficulties not being able to alter usernames etc. This is the one major gripe I have with Runboard.

Never-the-less, we are where we are.

I'm going to spend some time getting the forum up and running a bit more in the next few months, with a re-vamp of style and a bit more presence around the internet. Try and get people using it more emoticon
