So, will now put my A99 high as I can on house and sit and wait for some prop. Doesnt work so well on Ground wave as it horizontal. If you want to work local DX you'll need a vertical. Its not because theres anything wrong with the ant, its just that 99% of other stations use vertical and fror ground wave you'll work better if both stations are running the same polorisation I can highly recommend this antenna though at least for DXing when the props there nondisclosed_email@example.com (yamanx1)Mon, 21 Apr 2008 10:50:56 +0000 Re: Sirio 4 Element Beamhttps://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p1821,from=rss#post1821https://bfreebandingtalktheplanet.runboard.com/p1821,from=rss#post1821Thanks, I am taking it that it should be 18foot, as at 18 inches I would have problems cutting the grass! Mmm, it would be hidden there though and wouldnt catch the wind as much!!! I like the look of them and I know it would make a big difference for dx work but do they have to go up high? I realise that the higher they go the better, but it would only fit at the bottom of my garden and the garden slopes down, so where I have room for one, it would be a lot lower than the house, oh and if it faces the other way, there are mountains there! So, worth a try or not? Al Maybe just tilt it to face up and miss the mountain!!!!nondisclosed_email@example.com (Kaosss)Tue, 15 Apr 2008 22:14:25 +0000
