I'm hoping to borrow a ladder in the next few days so should be able to get mine installed too.

Re: Inverted V 11m 1/4 wave
Hi Topbuzzuk, Following on from my discussion on other forum thread for this antenna, Is the 9 foot winding RF choke an exact measurement for 11M? I spotted on another forum someone had a Balun with 18-20 feet of windings which they stated covered 0mhz to 30mhz. you have the same as me which is 9 feet, I have wrapped mine round a plastic drinks bottle. hope to have another go at getting SWR down at weekend

Re: Inverted V 11m 1/4 wave
hi tony, 9 foot i think is just for 11m band. the longer winding balun/chokes would be used on antenna for lower frequencies. most the radio ham stuff i read used large windings for larger antenna

Re: Inverted V 11m 1/4 wave
I thought it was, just checking with the experts!!!! Just been back up in loft to extend elements new SWR readings are 26.00=1.6.1, 27.00=1.2.1, 27.50=1.5.1, 28.00=1.9.1. looks like elements are just too long now. will cut 10mm off and see what happens then. May have to get Low Pass filter after all?
Fingers crossed
Cheers TC

Re: Inverted V 11m 1/4 wave
Ye Topbuzz I was looking at Comet CF30S which cover 0-30mhz and is £20 plus P&P.
have you got any info on whether this is any good??? also seen a Zetagi on Truck King but possibly its poop like the one you got as its only £7.
I want to try get SWR better before I invest in it anyway
cheers
Tony

Re: Inverted V 11m 1/4 wave
yeh that one looks ok, i wouldnt bother with the zetagi one. i tried a cb type one and it was crap, i'm sure the comet one is more ham radio based. sometimes you se kenwood ones on ebay for about 20-30 quid, have a look through ebay before you buy, may find a bargain

Re: Inverted V 11m 1/4 wave
well i'm very happy with this antenna i have built, in the last two days i have had a couple of contacts into Denmark, Holland and france i think it was. its no good for groundwave but seems to be doing the job when conditions allow skip wise, maybe not as good as a 18+foot vertical outside but for an indoor antenna i'm chuffed to bits. i reccomend anyone to try out this cheap n cheerfull wire antenna

Re: Inverted V 11m 1/4 wave
Hi Topbuzzuk, what is the SWR on yours? between 26.000 and 28.00 mine goes from 1.6 to 1.9 but with 1.2 on 27.000. I am going to try for better when rig comes back from doctors. just need to cut 10mm off according to the notes.
I think atm I would be happy to QSO with Isle of Man
