KENWOOD TS440S dots on display
its a common problem that every 440 will suffer from.
all the nasty glue that causes the dots has been removed, so i can discount that............
anyway on first start up (cold) the dots are present between 14.500 and 22.000 mhz only, laeve it warm up for 20 mins and they go, all good then? NO, because when the rig has been on for a hour or so, the dots come back??
Any ideas anyone?

Re: KENWOOD TS440S dots on display
VCO/PLL unlock scenario, quite common in older Kenwoods, try adjusting PLL/VCO adjustment as per manual for (I think) 6vdc.
But this is a short term fix, the caps used are old and need replacing.
Hope this helps
