5/8th wave for 10 metres?
Hi guys. Is it possible to tune a 1/2 or 5/8th wave "cb type" antenna to the 10 metre band?

Yes. You just need to shorten it a bit to get a resonance on higher frequency. Most CB verticals have tuning elements (adjustable top section or a tuning ring at the bottom) that should be more than enough for the task.

Re: 5/8th wave for 10 metres?
Hi John.
I have just erected a Sirio Gainmaster antenna and this has to be one of the best vertical antenna's for 10/11 meters. It is a pre tuned antenna and has a fantastic swr range from 25-30 mhz. I have a CRE8900 10 meter radio custom programmed from 25-28.500 mhz and the swr is at it's highest in the 25mhz range and it is only 1.5 at that. Through to 28 mhz the swr barely rises above 1.1.2. I have made my first contact today with Afghanistan with a radio 5 signal 7 using around 150 watts. Look them up. You wont pay anymore than £130 for one.
Best regards
