swr is at a 1.7...1.8 at present on 27.555.

I spent a few hours over the last week working on this antenna.
Firstly i shortened the strap between the element and the gamma rod and this brought the antenna down to a 1.4 swr from 2.0.
I need to lengthen the elements by approx 30mm to get it dead on 27.555 but as it stands its perfectly usable.
i also isolated the elements from the boom, but connected the director element to the cold side of the pl socket.
I spotted that vortex do this and decided to see if it would help.
i would like to get a trimming capacitor and see if i can adjust it via that.

Cheers pal.
I'm in the process of making a second hb9cv.
I made this one slightly differant, the gamma rod runs above the element and i mounted a jb to house the capacitor and the feed point.
I just have to cut the elements to size and test it all out.
