1/2 Wave Silver Rod
Hi all, does anyone know the precise length of a 1/2 Wave Silver Rod in mm to give it lowest SWR on 27mhz? The one I have came pre-marked with a thick black line on each section. As 10mm made a difference to my wire does the same apply to the rod??
Not had a chance to set up and test yet.
Cheers TC

Re: 1/2 Wave Silver Rod
i think moving it an inch at a time would be ok, my vertical has marks on it too. i think the marks are for the mid band as most antennas are designed around there, trial and error, just try moving it each way and se what the swr does

Re: 1/2 Wave Silver Rod
take a swr reading on your highest tx freq & your lowest tx freq.
if higher on top freq shorten antenna,if higher on lowest freq lentgh antenna??
or just get lowest swr on 27.500mhz.
