Sirio 827 - anyone used one?
As the title really.
I'm thinking of splashing out on a better antenna for 27. I've used a half wave for years now, and although the design works and is easy to erect, would the Sirio 827 offer a significant improvement?
What are your experiences in getting a super-low SWR, and what's it like in the wind?
Thanks for any advice.

Re: Sirio 827 - anyone used one?
Hi Andy, I use the 827, had the A99 up for years and soon as I put the 827 up the noise level dropped and it tunes on more of the ham bands with tuner. Stands up to the winds well - as long as you dont forget to guy your mast and then it bends easily upon impact with the ground, oops!
Still have the A99 and thats great for portable

Thanks Kaosss.
Still not sure what to do, but the 827 looks like a well-made antenna with a sensible transformer at the base, so I think that's the way I'll be going hopefully next year once the wind finishes destroying my little half-wave.

Re: Sirio 827 - anyone used one?
An old post but here goes, the 827 is great but the super golden penetrator is better in MHO,
I had my 827 up from 2011-2018 then took it down due to house repairs but never put it back up.
SWR is adjustable and tunes up an many ham bands.
When you put it together smear some grease on the joints and then tape over the jubilee clip when I took mine down it came apart like a dream.the joints are like new.
