Re: Whats this???

just found this, had to translate it so not so good, a bit wiser now but not a lot!

The innovative dish antennas in satellite antenna design
A CB antenna of a somewhat different kind!
Is often rented for an antenna, which optically a satellite dish resembles more a license to get than for a 6-meter-high base antenna.
It is a condensed 1/2-Lambda executed and for the currently approved in Germany 80 channels suitable.
It is a round-emitters and not a directional antenna, as you might suspect could.
The efficiency is high because of the reduction factor is significantly lower than in a big station antenna, is beneficial, however, that for a non-specialist is hardly recognizable that it was a CB antenna acts.
The SWR vote takes place over a trim capacitor (besides the PL-socket) with a small screwdriver.
The CB-dish can be used with the included Mastschelle on a commercial satellite-dish-boom or pole mounted.

Technische Daten: Specifications:

Frequency: 26-28 MHz
Bandwidth: 1200 kHz = 120 CB channels
SWR: 1:1,1 to 1:1,5
max. Power rating: 100 Watts PEP
Length: 1 / 2 Lambda
about 42 cm
max. 30 mm (40 mm with longer screws)
Connection: PL-UHF connector
Weight: 1.1 kg

well I reckon if it was any good we would have all heard of it before now. Be no good for mobile use, would just blow straight off the roof! Useful for a bit off extra speed if the wind was behind you though.

well at £50 its over half way to buying a beam, mind you take up a lot less room if its any good, have to wait till someone else reviews one before I rush out and buy one. Think they must be new as I cant find out much about them.
